Paying online

Pay by credit or debit card in the tool. Your order documents include a proof of payment receipt. Print it and hand it over with the mailing.

If a coupon is available, the payment step has a box for the code.

Paying at the Post Office

Choose to pay at the Post Office and settle up when you drop off, by cash, credit or debit card, or check.

One catch: an unpaid "Pay at Post Office" order can count against that ZIP Code's daily limit even if you never drop it off. Cancel it in Order History if your plans change.

Paying when you ship the mailing

If you're shipping the mailing to a distant Post Office and haven't paid online, put a check or money order payable to "Postmaster" or "Postal Service" in the box with your forms. Write your phone number in the memo line.

Refunds

USPS says refunds can be requested online or at the Post Office, depending on how you paid and whether you've already dropped off the mailing. For an order paid online, the tool's Order History has a Request Refund option. BMEU refunds go through the BMEU tied to the permit.

Paying through a BMEU

BMEU mailings are paid from a permit account, not by card. See EDDM at a BMEU.
