How you find out
The EDDM tool tells you. Once you've chosen routes and continued with Retail, the order shows each drop-off Post Office with its address, hours and contact details. If your routes are served by more than one Post Office, the confirmation lists how many pieces go to each and the approximate cost at each.
What to bring to the counter
- The bundles, each with its facing slip
- A completed PS Form 3587, with the carrier route information on the back
- Your proof of payment receipt if you paid online, or a way to pay: cash, credit or debit card, or check
Shipping to a Post Office far away
If the routes are in a ZIP Code you can't easily reach, USPS lets you ship the mailing.
- Put the bundles, with their facing slips, in a box.
- Add an envelope with a sample piece, PS Form 3587 and the Postmaster Instruction Letter.
- If you haven't paid online, add a check or money order payable to "Postmaster" or "Postal Service" for the postage, with your phone number in the memo line.
- Address each box to POSTMASTER at that Post Office's city, state and ZIP Code.
- Write "Every Door Direct Mail–Retail" and "Open Immediately" on each box.
- Number the boxes "1 of 3", "2 of 3" and so on.
- Send it by Priority Mail.
The shipping cost is on top of your EDDM postage.
