What you hand in
Retail mail arrives at the counter already sorted. You bring it bundled by route, 50 to 100 pieces to a bundle and no more than 6 inches tall, with a facing slip on top of each bundle under the straps. Write the piece count on each slip. Bring PS Form 3587 with the carrier route information filled in on the back.
The EDDM tool prints the form and the slips once your order is placed.
What Retail can't do
- No nonprofit prices.
- No extra services such as tracking or certified mail.
- No forwarding and no returns. Pieces that can't be delivered are discarded.
- No partial routes. Each route is mailed whole.
Do I need a permit for EDDM Retail?
No. A USPS.com account is enough.
Is there a fee to use EDDM Retail?
No annual or presort fees. You pay postage only, $0.260 a piece.
Can I mail more than 5,000 pieces?
Yes, across different ZIP Codes or different days. The cap is 5,000 per day per ZIP Code.
Is EDDM Retail the same as EDDM?
It's one of the two ways to send EDDM. The other is a bulk mailing entered at a BMEU with a permit.
